STD/HIV Test

Rapid HIV Test

$60 incl. GST

What is it?

Rapid HIV Testing is a blood test that screens human immunodeficiency viruses (HIV) that may be present in your body after potential exposure.

Results are reviewed by Resident Doctors.

What does it help with?

The Rapid HIV Testing helps to assess traces of HIV in the bloodstream. It can also detect antibodies produced by the body to fight the infection. Detecting the virus at its early stages helps to increase your chances to treat it and avoid spreading the virus to others. If left untreated, HIV weakens your immune system and increases your risk to Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS), a syndrome that lowers your ability to fight off diseases, infections, and other ailments.

What to expect?

Thirty (30) minutes before taking the test, you are required to refrain from eating, drinking (even water), chewing gum, or using oral care products (e.g. applying toothpaste, mouthwash, or whitening strips). Prior to and during these thirty minutes, you are also required to abstain from smoking. This helps avoid external substances from affecting your results.

To collect the sample for testing, our clinic assistant will conduct an oral swab. You only need to wait twenty (20) minutes for your result.

Who is this for?

The Rapid HIV Test is recommended for those who may have had potential HIV exposure in the last 90 days.
